The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Dr. Ayodeji Amobonye Emmanuel, a Nigerian biotechnology researcher, on his recognition among the top two percent of scientists in the world.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the prestigious ranking, published by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier, spotlights researchers whose publications have made the highest impact across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields.

In a statement issued by NiDCOM spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa lauded Emmanuel for “blazing the trail in scientific innovation and discovery,” describing his inclusion as “a testament to his commitment, academic excellence and contributions to global knowledge production.”
Dr. Emmanuel, who earned his Ph.D at the Durban University of Technology, South Africa, has lectured and conducted extensive research in Biotechnology. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania.

The scientist, whose work has gained global recognition for its impact in Biotechnology, previously worked with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). He also holds degrees from the Federal University of Technology, Minna and the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Dabiri-Erewa praised his achievement as both “an inspiration to young scientists” and proof that Nigerians in the diaspora continue to distinguish themselves on the world stage.
“NiDCOM celebrates Dr. Amobonye for being a beacon of excellence and a worthy ambassador of Nigeria in the global scientific community. His achievement not only elevates the image of Nigeria in the diaspora but also inspires young scientists at home,” Balogun stated.
