Zulum presented the gift during the commissioning of 72 housing units for teachers and health workers in Mafa.
The governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, confirmed the development and described Duaka as a dedicated public servant who stood by the community for over two decades.

Iliya recalled that in 2022, the governor similarly rewarded another Igbo teacher, Obiageli Mazi from Abia State, for her outstanding service and punctuality after 31 years in Maiduguri.
He said the governor’s gesture reflects his appreciation for workers’ loyalty and dedication, regardless of their background.
Zulum praised Duaka for her exceptional courage and loyalty, noting that she never left Mafa during the peak of the Boko Haram insurgency when many others fled.

He said she served the people faithfully and even treated his family members, including his mother.
The governor ordered that the new house be officially transferred to Duaka’s name as personal property.
He urged her to remain in Mafa even after retirement, emphasizing that her selfless service had earned her the state’s respect and gratitude.
Overcome with joy, Duaka thanked the governor for his kindness and recognition. She said the gift marked the happiest day of her life, recalling that Zulum had previously sponsored her education in Health Education.
She expressed deep appreciation for the employment offer for her son and promised to continue serving the people of Mafa with dedication and humility.
