Under the U.S. proposal, Israel will release approximately 2,000 Palestinian detainees once the militants confirm the hostages have crossed into Israel.

However, negotiators struggled yesterday to finalize the arrangements. Two Hamas sources confirmed to AFP that the group insisted Israel must include seven senior Palestinian leaders on the release list, naming prominent figures like Marwan Barghouti and Ahmad Saadat. Israel had previously rejected at least one of these names.
Shosh Bedrosian, a spokesperson for Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, stated that the hostage release “will begin early Monday morning,” with Israel “expecting all 20 of our living hostages to be released together at one time.”

President Trump will arrive in Israel shortly after the expected release, where he will address the Israeli parliament. He will then head to the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to co-chair a summit with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Leaders from over 20 nations, including the U.N. Secretary-General and the Prime Ministers of the U.K., Italy, and Spain, will attend the meeting, which aims to end the two-year Gaza war and promote Middle East stability.
