EKO HOT BLOG reports that in an interview with Daily Post, Usani expressed confidence that the ADC would replicate the historic victory the APC achieved in 2015, when it defeated the then-incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. He insisted that defeating a sitting government is not an impossible task.
“People thought it was impossible to defeat an incumbent president, but it happened in 2015. That same feat will be repeated in 2027, both at the Cross River level and at the national stage,” he said.
Usani dismissed recent media reports claiming that he had been suspended from the ADC, stressing that he remains the National Vice Chairman of the party for the South-South region.
“I am speaking to you as the National Vice Chairman of our party in the South-South. Such suspension does not exist. The boys had to justify what they were paid to do,” he stated.
The former minister also reacted to the recent wave of defections to the APC, describing the movement as driven by fear and personal interest rather than genuine political conviction.
“We’re not perturbed by defections to the APC. Our coalition party is set, and we are moving forward,” he added confidently.
Usani maintained that the ADC is focused on strengthening its grassroots structures and building alliances that would give Nigerians a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 polls.
