According to her, the initiative builds on existing national and state policies to ensure continuity, innovation, and inclusiveness in the education system.
“The ESP seeks to outline how education in Lagos will raise quality at all levels, guarantee sustained and unrestricted access for personal development, and use education as a tool for better life quality through functional skills, job creation, and poverty alleviation,” she stated.

She explained that the plan aims to reduce poverty, boost economic development, and ensure that every Lagos resident has access to quality education that meets both local and global standards.
Dokunmu-Adegbite added that reviewing past education outcomes remains crucial to setting new benchmarks for the next decade.
“To chart fresh projections for education’s future, especially in Lagos State, we must first review the past — to see clearly where we have come from and where we are headed,” she said.
The ESP is expected to serve as a guiding document for policymakers, educators, and development partners in advancing teaching, learning, and human capital development in Lagos State.
