Sawyerr highlighted that President Bola Tinubu is committed to easing the financial burden of tertiary education for parents.
“The students’ loan scheme is an opportunity for Nigerian students to further their education to the tertiary level,” he said.
Speaking at the Palace of the Oore of Otun Ekiti and the Paramount Ruler of Moba land, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, Sawyerr encouraged parents to support children attending public tertiary institutions to participate in the scheme.

“Nigerians are eager for knowledge. We are curious and want to learn. The student loan policy has opened doors, giving people access and the chance to continue their education to the tertiary level,” he said.
He also noted the scheme’s growing impact, citing that 12,000 applications were received within the last 24 hours, demonstrating the substantial demand and interest among Nigerian students.
