The group urged politicians to avoid politicising the abduction and instead support ongoing security operations aimed at ensuring the safe return of the students.
It criticised individuals who condemn the President’s intervention while celebrating the Vice President’s visit to sympathise with the community, describing such reactions as unhelpful.

The Northern Nigerians Peace Group also took aim at the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, accusing him and his allies of launching unwarranted attacks on President Tinubu’s security efforts in the North West. It described a recent statement by the Zamfara chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as “unbecoming and lacking decorum.”
The group urged President Tinubu to closely monitor public comments made by Governor Lawal and others, warning that divisive statements could hinder rescue operations.
It stressed that insecurity remains a national concern requiring unity and collective action, and condemned those who prioritise political interests over the safety and wellbeing of citizens.
