EKO HOT BLOG reports that the governor announced the approval on Monday through a message shared across his social media platforms, shortly after directing the State Accountant General to ensure immediate disbursement of the funds.
“I have directed the Accountant General to pay the 13th-month Eno-mber salary before Christmas, so our workers can celebrate with ease. Happy New Month,” he posted.
The 13th-month salary is an additional yearly payment given to employees, often equivalent to one month’s basic salary, and is intended to ease the financial pressure associated with the festive season. It helps workers take care of travel, gifts, holiday expenses and other end-of-year responsibilities.
Governor Eno’s approval of the “Eno-mber” bonus marks the third consecutive year his administration is issuing the extra payment to all public servants in the state, reinforcing a tradition he has maintained since assuming office.
The bonus is widely viewed as a supportive measure aimed at helping workers celebrate the holidays without financial strain, especially in a period of rising living costs.

In December 2024, the governor also announced the implementation of a new minimum wage of ₦80,000 for all public servants, a policy that was praised across the state for improving the welfare of government employees.
