Nigeria is preparing to host the maiden edition of the Nigerian Foods and Culture Festival, scheduled for December 16–17, 2025, at the Cricket Pitch, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, announced the upcoming celebration while briefing journalists in Abuja, noting that the event will highlight the country’s artistic strength and cultural diversity.

Musawa stated that the festival, organised in partnership with Irabor Creative Minds, is part of the government’s broader plan to use culture and creativity as engines for economic development, employment opportunities, and national cohesion.

She described Lagos as the ideal host city, given its reputation as a cultural powerhouse and a global entertainment destination, especially during the vibrant “Detty December’’ season.
The minister assured that this edition would surpass previous cultural gatherings in scale and experience, expressing hope that the event would eventually become a major attraction for tourists around the world.

Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Irabor Creative Minds, Jude Irabor Uwagbai, also gave assurances regarding safety at the event.
