The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the assumption of duty of Umar Ahmed-Chuso as the state’s new Commissioner of Police.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Ahmed-Chuso replaces Shetima Mohammed, who was redeployed to the Police Staff College in Jos as Deputy Commandant on the orders of the Inspector-General of Police.

The Command’s spokesman, Rahman Nansel, described the new police chief as a seasoned officer with vast operational and administrative experience. He added that Ahmed-Chuso has appealed to residents to collaborate with the police as efforts to curb criminal activities continue.

Ahmed-Chuso, a native of Sokoto South LGA, holds a degree in Agricultural Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He joined the Force in 1994 as a Cadet ASP and has served in several key positions, including Deputy Commandant of the Police Staff College, Deputy Commissioner in both Operations and CID in Kano, and ACP Operations in Delta State.
He has also served as DPO in various formations, pioneer Area Commander of Argungu in Kebbi State, and held roles at Force CID (Interpol), among others.

His professional journey includes local and international trainings, ranging from tactical leadership and military strategy to human rights protection.
The new CP urged traditional rulers, community groups, youths and religious bodies to support security operations by providing timely intelligence, assuring citizens of a renewed commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Nasarawa State.
