EKO HOT BLOG reports that the affirmation followed the APC governorship primary held on Saturday in Osogbo, where Oyebamiji emerged through a consensus process involving party stakeholders and delegates.
Oyebamiji was affirmed by the 1,660 delegates after he was nominated by one of the aspirants, Kunle Adegoke, SAN, and seconded by another aspirant, Senator Babajide Omoworare.
Announcing the decision, Adegoke said the affirmation followed the directive of the APC national working committee and the agreement of all aspirants to step down in the interest of party unity.
He said, “I Kunle Adegoke with the consent of all other aspirants move the motion that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji be adopted as the consensus candidate to contest in the 2026 governorship candidate. I so move.”
Following the motion, the Chairman of the APC primary election committee, Governor Monday Okpebholo, conducted a voice vote, which was unanimously endorsed by the delegates.
Declaring the outcome, Okpebholo said, “By the power conferred on me as Chairman of the primary committee, I hereby declare Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, as the candidate of our party.”

Oyebamiji’s emergence sets the stage for the APC’s preparations ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, with party leaders describing the consensus arrangement as a move to strengthen internal cohesion.
