The Lagos State Police Command has debunked reports claiming that armed men invaded Ajebo Community near Agbowa in Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), attacking residents and looting properties.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the command described the reports as false and misleading, warning that such narratives could trigger unnecessary fear among residents.

According to the police, the incident in question was a disagreement arising from a land dispute between two families in the community, not an attack by armed assailants.
SP Adebisi said that upon receiving information about the unrest, tactical squads, Police Mobile Force operatives, and officers from the Agbowa Division and Area N Command were swiftly deployed to the area. The intervention, she noted, successfully restored calm, allowing residents to resume normal activities.

Following directives from the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, a preliminary investigation was conducted, which confirmed that no gunshots were fired during the incident. The police also found that no property was looted and no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
The commissioner has since summoned leaders of the two families involved in the dispute and issued a stern warning that anyone found instigating violence or attempting to disrupt public peace will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
CP Jimoh further cautioned members of the public and media organisations against spreading unverified information, reiterating the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Lagos State.
