Thani-Oladunjoye Older People’s Care Centre in Epe came alive on Saturday, December 13, 2025, as Iya Ewe of Epe Kingdom, Chief (Mrs) Modupeola Lawal, celebrated her 70th birthday by sharing joy and palliatives with the elderly residents.
Eko Hot Blog reports that accompanied by dignitaries and staff of her charity organization, De-Bulad Charities, Mrs. Lawal distributed food packs to support senior citizens during the festive season.

In a remarkable recognition of her contributions across various sectors, Prof. Isaac Olaniyi, Chancellor of Global Rebirth Leadership University, USA, conferred an Honourary Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Humanitarian Services on the septuagenarian.
The award plaques were presented to her amid prayers and appreciation from the elderly residents and other attendees.
Speaking on her life and service, Mrs. Lawal reflected on her journey and commitment to humanitarian work. “I want to appeal to our people in Nigeria, to be their brothers’ keepers.
You need to start sharing from that little that you have now,” she urged, emphasizing the importance of giving and community support. She further highlighted the need for government accountability and improved living standards in Epe, noting the absence of an orphanage in the area.
Accompanied by the Olori of the late Olu Epe, HRM Oba Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, Alhaja Aribike Adewale, and Engr. Bode Abbas, Mrs. Lawal acknowledged God’s grace in sustaining her through life’s challenges.
“The grace of God, His faithfulness and loving-kindness, sustained me to attain this milestone,” she said.
Alhaja Aribike Adewale also celebrated the elderly, giving each a cash gift of #5,000 alongside rice and garri packs, while commending Mrs. Lawal for her unwavering support to the less-privileged.
Prof. Olaniyi affirmed that the doctorate was awarded due to her consistent commitment to humanitarian services and community development.
