The park came alive as families, couples, groups of friends and film enthusiasts gathered under the open sky, bonding over laughter, memories and shared love for Nollywood storytelling.

The night did not end with the movie, as guests later flowed into a vibrant after-party filled with music, lively conversations and celebrations that lasted deep into the night, strengthening the sense of togetherness that defined the outing.
Reacting to the success of the Ibadan edition, Movie in the Park organiser, Ihechi Opara, described the turnout as overwhelming and emotionally rewarding.
“What happened in Ibadan went beyond watching a film. It was a moment of reconnection — with Nollywood, with shared memories and with each other,” Opara said.
He added that the massive response further validated the vision behind the initiative.

“Our aim is to create moments people didn’t realise they were missing — relaxed spaces where families and friends can truly unwind and enjoy quality entertainment. The reception in Ibadan shows we are on the right track,” he noted.
Buoyed by the success, Opara revealed plans to expand Movie in the Park nationwide in 2026, with outdoor cinema festivals slated for at least ten states across the country.
“Next year, we are taking this experience across Nigeria, ensuring more people can enjoy a warm, simple and unforgettable outdoor movie gathering that brings communities closer,” he said.
With its blend of nostalgia, social connection and accessible entertainment, Movie in the Park is fast cementing its place as one of Nigeria’s standout outdoor cultural experiences, reshaping how audiences engage with film beyond the traditional cinema hall.
