Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Lily Afe made it clear that she was unimpressed with the organizers’ decision.
“I always choose to believe everything happens for a reason. I don’t need a nomination for validation,” she wrote. She went on to defend her work, noting that her character trended significantly last year and that her acting was “100%.”
The actress did not mince words in her final remarks to the award body, ending her post with the biting comment, “You guys can eat your award.

AMVCA SMH.” Her frustration stems from the high praise she received for her delivery in the series, particularly her seamless use of pidgin English and the emotional depth she brought to the role of Idia.
The Best Supporting Actress category for this edition features heavyweights such as Sola Sobowale (The Covenant), Linda Ejiofor (The Herd), Bisola Aiyeola (Gingerrr), and Funke Akindele (Behind The Scenes).
