Police operatives in Kaduna State have successfully thwarted an attempted attack and kidnapping operation, rescuing 76 children and arresting three suspects.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Force Headquarters disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.

According to the police, actionable intelligence was received at about 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, indicating that suspected bandits were planning to attack vehicles conveying children along the Kasuwan Magani axis of the state.
Acting swiftly on the information, the Divisional Police Officer of the Kasuwan Magani Division mobilised operatives to the area. On arrival, the officers confronted the suspects, foiled the planned attack and secured the safe rescue of 76 children, made up of boys and girls aged between 7 and 20 years.
The police confirmed that none of the children was harmed during the operation.
Three suspects identified as Jonathan John, 25, Oliver Magaji, 27, and Bitrus Sawaba, 23, were arrested at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly involved in transporting the children to various parts of the country for child labour and other domestic services.
The rescued children are currently being housed safely at the Kaduna State Police Command Headquarters, where efforts are ongoing to identify and reunite them with their parents or guardians.
The police said investigations have been intensified to uncover the full network behind the operation and apprehend other accomplices. The suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property and called on the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support security operations nationwide.
