The Rivers State Police Command has arrested and detained several staff members of the Real Madrid Academy in the state following a fire outbreak at the academy’s facility.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that those arrested were said to include electricians, cleaners and security personnel attached to the academy. The arrests followed the fire incident, which occurred on Monday, prompting an immediate police investigation.
Sources told The Whistler that the arrests were reportedly ordered by a serving commissioner in the state as part of efforts to determine the cause of the fire. It was gathered that the affected workers were taken into custody on Tuesday morning and detained at the Elekahia Police Station, where they allegedly spent the night.
Further checks revealed that the detentions were linked to preliminary investigations into the incident. Sources at the police station confirmed that the matter has since been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department for a more detailed probe.
As of the time of filing this report, the Rivers State Police Command had not issued an official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the fire or the rationale for the arrests.
