The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, CON, has directed the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to immediately fence Temu Community Senior Secondary School, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Lagos State, in a bid to enhance security and protect lives and property within the school premises.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Dr. Alausa made this known during the commissioning and inspection of educational projects facilitated by the Member representing Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Wale Raji, at Temu Community Senior Secondary School.
The Minister expressed delight at the quality of infrastructure provided and revealed that the school holds special historical significance as the first secondary school established in Temu community.
“I was informed that this is the first secondary school in Temu, and seeing the level of intervention here is truly impressive.
To further support this school, I am approving a cash donation of five million naira, and I have directed UBEC to fence the school round to ensure adequate security,” Dr. Alausa said.
The Minister noted that a secure learning environment is critical to academic excellence, stressing that the Federal Government remains committed to improving safety and infrastructure in public schools across the country in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Commending Hon. Wale Raji, Dr. Alausa described the projects executed in Temu and across Epe Federal Constituency as impactful and people-driven, adding that they reflect genuine representation and responsiveness to community needs.
“Honourable Wale Raji has shown, through these projects, that education-focused leadership can transform communities and secure the future of our children,” he stated.
Also speaking at the event, the Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Ali-Balogun, praised Hon. Wale Raji for facilitating and felicitating educational projects across the entire Epe Division.
He said the interventions complement the efforts of the Lagos State Government in strengthening public education and improving learning outcomes.
“These projects facilitated by Honourable Wale Raji are visible, impactful, and spread across Epe Division.
They clearly demonstrate a strong partnership between elected representatives and the education sector,” the Commissioner said.
Mr. Ali-Balogun added that the state government would continue to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Education and other stakeholders to ensure that schools are safe, well-equipped, and conducive for teaching and learning.
Community leaders, school administrators, and students at the event expressed appreciation for the interventions, describing them as timely and transformative.
They noted that the fencing of the school would address long-standing security concerns and protect newly commissioned facilities.
