The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, has paid a working visit to Ogudu Junior and Senior High School and Kosofe Junior High School as part of his ongoing monitoring and supervisory engagements since assuming office.

Eko Hot Blog reports that he visit coincided with th celebration of the International Day of Education as well as the Career Day for Public Secondary Schools in Lagos State, adding significance to the exercise and providing an opportunity for direct interaction with students and school administrators.
While addressing students at Ogudu Senior High School, Mr. Sanni described education as the foundation of development and growth, stressing that the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, remains fully committed to advancing education and technology across the state.
“Education is the primary language of development and growth,” he said. “The Lagos State Government is investing heavily in education and technology to ensure that students are well-equipped to compete globally.”
He urged students to stay focused and committed to their academic pursuits, noting that dedication to education opens doors to opportunities, freedom, and relevance in an increasingly competitive world.
“Embrace education with total dedication and passion if you truly desire greatness in the future,” Sanni charged the students.
Speaking further, the TG/PS explained that the Career Day initiative was introduced to broaden students’ awareness and guide them towards making informed career decisions and purposeful life choices.
He encouraged students to take advantage of the guidance provided by their teachers and school administrators.
“We need doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and professionals of all kinds among you,” he stated. “Your teachers are here to pilot you in the right direction. I urge you to obey instructions, remain disciplined, and give full attention to your studies.”
Mr. Sanni noted that the school visits were also aimed at reaffirming the district’s commitment to quality education delivery, effective supervision, and holistic student development, in line with the Lagos State Government’s vision of building a technologically-driven and knowledge-based society.
He commended school management and teachers for their dedication and encouraged them to continue upholding high academic and moral standards in shaping the future of students under their care.
