Education District II, through its Guidance and Counselling Unit, has successfully organised a Career Day Programme themed “Pathways to Purpose: Discovering and Exploring Careers, Shaping the Future,” aimed at equipping students with the knowledge, exposure, and motivation needed to make informed career decisions.

Eko Hot Blog reports that he programme, held at the Immaculate Heart Hall, Maryland, brought together students from various secondary schools across the District, alongside seasoned professionals, guidance counsellors, and education stakeholders who shared valuable insights and real-life career experiences.
Speaking at the event, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni—represented by the Director, Guidance and Counselling, Mrs. Bolanle Adeniyi—stated that the initiative reflects the District’s unwavering commitment to nurturing purpose-driven, well-guided students prepared for future academic and professional pursuits.
He noted that Education District II remains resolute in promoting career development programmes, mentorship opportunities, and holistic education that empower learners to identify their strengths, interests, and long-term goals.
The TG/PS expressed appreciation to the facilitators and resource persons for their dedication and impactful contributions, stressing that their engagement inspired students and broadened their understanding of the wide range of career opportunities available to them.
Activities at the programme included interactive lectures, career counselling sessions, and a colourful career exhibition where students dressed in professional costumes representing various fields.
This practical display brought different professions to life and significantly enhanced the students’ learning experience.
The well-attended event recorded the participation of over 250 students from different schools within Education District II.
