President Bola Tinubu has congratulated players of Nigerian descent who were part of the Seattle Seahawks team that won Super Bowl 60 on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29–13 to lift their second Lombardi Trophy in a commanding performance.

Among the players of Nigerian heritage who featured in the Seahawks’ lineup are quarterback Jalen Oluwaseun Milroe, defensive standout Nick Emmanwori, veteran linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, linebacker Boye Maye, and offensive lineman Olu Oluwatimi.

President Tinubu also extended his congratulations to Michael Onwenu, who played for the New England Patriots and is widely regarded as one of the league’s most dominant offensive linemen.
The President praised the athletes for bringing pride and honour to Nigeria through their achievements. He made special mention of Emmanwori, Nwosu and Maye for raising the Nigerian flag in celebration after the victory.
According to Tinubu, the accomplishments of the players further reinforce Nigeria’s global reputation for excellence and talent across various fields.
