The presentation ceremony, held at the Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Government Council in Epe, marked the release of 500 PINs in the second phase of the programme.
Beneficiaries will also enjoy free JAMB summer coaching designed to prepare them adequately for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
Addressing the students, Hon. Ogunkelu described education as a strategic investment in the future of the constituency.
“This programme is not a handout; it is a deliberate investment in your future. When we empower our students, we empower our communities,” he stated.
He explained that the initiative, now in its seventh edition, continues to bridge financial gaps for indigent students who might otherwise miss the opportunity to sit for the examination.
“Our goal is to ensure that no capable student in Epe Constituency II is denied the opportunity to pursue higher education because of financial constraints,” he added.
The lawmaker noted that beyond providing registration support, the inclusion of free summer coaching underscores his commitment to quality outcomes, not just participation.
The Educational Empowerment Programme is structured to:
Improve access to higher education for students in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA
Provide financial relief for indigent families
Enhance students’ preparedness through structured coaching
Community members and parents commended the initiative, describing it as impactful and consistent with Hon. Ogunkelu’s people-oriented representation.
The intervention further strengthens his track record of youth-focused policies and sustained educational support across Epe Constituency II.
