In a statement released on Wednesday by Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, the agency explained that the maintenance will focus on the 150MVA 330/132/33kV transformer, the 5.5MVA 33/11kV transformer, and associated switchgears.
While TCN assured that the Abuja and Kaduna Electricity Distribution Companies will attempt to maintain supply by transferring loads to functional transformers, a brief outage is unavoidable for certain areas during the transition.

Residents in Kontagora, Tegina, Yauri, and surrounding environs are expected to be the most affected by the load transfer process.
TCN has appealed for the understanding of consumers, maintaining that the routine check is a “necessary corrective” measure to prevent long-term equipment failure and improve overall service delivery across the region.
The agency reiterated its commitment to stabilizing the national grid through its ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation programs.
Local businesses and households in the affected zones are advised to plan accordingly for the six-hour window of potential disruption on both days.
