Eko Hot Blog reports that the Chairman of the National Population Commission, Aminu Yusuf, has led a high-level delegation of the Commission on a courtesy visit to the Accountant-General of the Federation, Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, in Abuja.

The visit, which took place on March 5, 2026, was held at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and formed part of efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration and advance national development initiatives.
Members of the delegation included Federal Commissioners, the Director-General, and the Director of Accounts of the Commission. Also present was Barr. (Mrs.) Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, the Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State.
The engagement provided a platform for both institutions to explore ways of deepening cooperation, particularly in support of the Commission’s national programmes aimed at improving population data management and enhancing effective national planning.
During the meeting, the leadership of the Commission emphasized the importance of strong institutional partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals and strengthening governance structures in the country.
Speaking on the significance of the visit, Barr. Oladunjoye noted that collaboration between key government institutions remains vital to improving service delivery and national development outcomes.
“Strategic collaboration between institutions like the National Population Commission and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation is essential for strengthening national planning and improving service delivery to Nigerians,” she said.
She added that the visit reflects the Commission’s commitment to building partnerships that support the effective implementation of its programmes and initiatives.
“This engagement underscores our continued commitment to fostering partnerships that will enhance operational efficiency and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s sustainable development,” Oladunjoye stated.
The visit concluded with mutual assurances from both institutions to continue working together in strengthening Nigeria’s data systems and supporting national development priorities.
