President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Nigerian Armed Forces to intensify operations aimed at protecting civilians and preventing further attacks on military installations in the North-East.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the directive followed a recent attack by Boko Haram insurgents on Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives during the assault, including military personnel and civilians.
The President also acknowledged reports that some individuals were killed during aerial operations carried out by the Nigerian Air Force while targeting fleeing terrorists.
Tinubu described the attack as a cruel assault on innocent citizens and urged residents of Borno and other parts of the country not to give in to fear.
He commended the military for their swift response to the incident, noting that the counter-offensive led to the killing of several terrorists and forced others to retreat.

The President further directed security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue persons abducted during the attack.
Tinubu prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and extended his condolences to the bereaved families as well as the government and people of Borno State.
