According to him, state governments should take advantage of the momentum created by the initiative to promote sustainable development and improve the welfare of citizens.
“State governments must seize the momentum created by the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative to drive lasting and sustainable development for our people,” Obasa said.
He noted that the programmes being implemented under the initiative are already producing measurable results in key areas such as education, healthcare and economic empowerment.
The Speaker added that stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments would further expand the reach and impact of the interventions, particularly among vulnerable women and youths.
Obasa described the First Lady’s efforts as timely and transformative, stressing that the grassroots-focused programmes align with the broader national objective of inclusive growth and poverty reduction.
He also explained that his visit to the First Lady was to discuss developmental issues and extend goodwill during the overlapping observances of Ramadan and Lent.

The Speaker emphasised the importance of unity, shared values and mutual respect during the season of reflection and sacrifice.
The Renewed Hope Initiative, launched by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, focuses on providing practical support for women and young people through vocational training, financial empowerment programmes, health interventions and educational opportunities.
