The Muslim community of Igbooye Kingdom and Odoyangunshi came together in a remarkable show of unity and spirituality as the Orijeru of Igbooye KingdomIgbooye Monarch Hosts Maiden Ramadan Lecture, Calls for Spiritual Renewal, Abdulrasaq Akanni Musa, hosted the maiden edition of the Community Ramadan Lecture.

The event, which symbolized the strong bond between the two communities, attracted religious leaders, political figures and residents who gathered to reflect on the spiritual significance of the holy month of Ramadan.
Delivering the Ramadan lecture, Nosirudeen Olajide Onibon spoke on the theme Ramadan as a Spiritual Re-Engineer: Whither the Muslims. He explained the deeper meaning of the fasting period and its impact on the moral and spiritual development of Muslims.
In his lecture, the scholar highlighted the core spiritual values of Ramadan as contained in the Qur’an and the teachings of Muhammad, stressing discipline, self-purification and devotion as key elements of the sacred month.
“Ramadan is not only about abstaining from food and drink; it is a divine opportunity for Muslims to purify their hearts, discipline their souls and renew their commitment to righteousness.”
He urged Muslims to ensure that the lessons of Ramadan are sustained even after the fasting period.
Also speaking at the event, the Member representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Wale Raji, commended the monarch for his visionary leadership and dedication to community development.
He noted that his representation goes beyond legislative duties, assuring residents of his commitment to facilitating development across communities in the constituency.
“Our responsibility is not limited to lawmaking alone; we remain committed to bringing meaningful and unprecedented development to our communities.”
Raji highlighted several projects facilitated in the region, particularly within Igbooye Kingdom, while assuring residents of continued efforts to make the constituency one of the most progressive in the country.
The event was also attended by the Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area, Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, who was described by many attendees as a major contributor to the development of Igbooye community. Members of the League of Imams and Alfas in the council area were also present in large numbers.
The maiden Ramadan lecture further strengthened the spirit of unity, religious harmony and community cooperation among residents of Igbooye and Odoyangunshi.
