He noted that the move is aimed at unifying the party’s ranks and ensuring a cohesive front for the progress of both the state and the nation.
The defection is being framed by party leaders as a move toward political inclusiveness. Maikatako urged all APC members across the 147 wards and 14 local government areas to set aside factional differences and turn out in large numbers to honor the Vice President’s visit.
“Our goal is to consolidate the party’s strength in Zamfara and ensure that all members work together,” he stated.
The Chairman further reiterated that the APC remains a “home for those committed to development,” suggesting that Lawal’s return will enhance the party’s popularity and performance in the 2027 polls.

The upcoming ceremony is expected to draw the national leadership of the APC, signaling the importance the party places on regaining total control of the North-Western state.
Stakeholders are optimistic that this reconciliation will lead to shared objectives, focusing on the prosperity of Zamfara and the advancement of the country.
