The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has cleared the air over reports suggesting that it increased the monthly upkeep allowance for student beneficiaries.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement released on Monday, the agency said the allowance remains ₦20,000, contrary to claims circulating that it had been raised to ₦25,000.

According to the statement signed by its Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, there has been no change to the approved stipend.
“The approved upkeep allowance remains ₦20,000 monthly, and not ₦25,000 as being reported,” the statement said.

NELFUND also urged students to be cautious of misinformation and rely only on its official communication channels for updates.
The agency emphasised that any valid changes to the scheme would be properly communicated through verified platforms to avoid confusion.
