The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to a deadly robbery incident that claimed the life of a passerby in Kaduna.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on March 28 near the Kawo Flyover, close to Mamu Oil, a few metres from Kawo Bridge.

In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, said a group of attackers targeted the victim in an attempt to steal his mobile phone.
Police officers stationed in the area quickly responded and rushed the victim to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for emergency treatment, but he was later confirmed dead.
Following the incident, detectives launched an investigation which led to the arrest of a suspect identified as Aminu Lawal, also known as “Aminu Yayyafi,” who reportedly admitted involvement in the crime.

The police said efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the group who fled the scene.
The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, has directed tactical teams to intensify operations to ensure all those involved are apprehended.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm, assuring that the situation is under control and that justice will be served.
