The Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, has ordered the immediate deployment of more than 850 additional troops to reinforce security operations in Plateau State.

Confirming the development, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Chinonso Oteh, said the reinforcements are aimed at supporting troops already on ground to reduce tensions and restore peace in affected communities.
According to the statement, the deployment is part of efforts to strengthen ongoing military operations under Operation Enduring Peace.

He also assured the soldiers that necessary logistics and operational support have been provided to enable them to carry out their duties effectively.

The additional troops have been tasked with safeguarding lives and property, as well as improving overall security across the state.
Meanwhile, following the March 29 attack, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, had earlier directed the deployment of Police Mobile Force units and other tactical teams to Plateau State to reinforce security efforts.
