A video shared on X by Sanwo-Olu’s aide, Jubril Gawat, showed Akpabio unveiling the projects alongside Hope Uzodimma, Lagos East Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Sanwo-Olu, and other dignitaries.

While cutting the ribbon, he stated, “On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I commission these projects.”
Earlier, Gboyega Akosile, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Sanwo-Olu, had described the initiatives as “iconic, transformative, and legacy projects.”
The full list includes the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building at Alausa, the Multi-Agency Complex, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, the Maracana Stadium, and the Lagos Food Logistics Hub in Abijo.

To facilitate the commissioning events, the Lagos State Government announced partial road closures on key routes on Wednesday and Thursday. Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi advised motorists to plan ahead to avoid congestion.
Specifically, the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge was inaugurated on Wednesday, April 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., affecting traffic in Opebi-Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota.
On Thursday, April 9, the commissioning of the Tolu Schools Complex will affect roads in Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle during the same hours.
The government emphasized that the closures were necessary to ensure safety and a smooth conduct of the events while urging drivers to use alternative routes.
