According to the commission’s Week 14 update, more than three million Nigerians finalized their registration during this phase, reflecting continued public engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Breaking down the numbers, INEC disclosed that 2,259,288 individuals completed the process through the online pre-registration platform, while 1,489,416 registrants finalized theirs in person at designated centres nationwide.
The commission, however, clarified that the figures are provisional and will undergo further verification.
With registration now concluded, INEC said it is moving to the next stage, public display of the voter register for claims and objections, a key step aimed at ensuring the integrity of the database.
This exercise is scheduled to take place nationwide from April 29 to May 5, 2026, during which citizens will be able to check their details and report any inaccuracies.

INEC encouraged all those who registered to participate actively by confirming their information and helping identify invalid entries, including duplicates, deceased persons, or non-citizens.
The commission also highlighted that the CVR exercise has been conducted in phases. The first phase ran from August 18 to December 19, 2025, while the second phase lasted from January 5 to April 17, 2026.
INEC added that details of the third phase will be announced later, reiterating its commitment to maintaining a credible voter register as a foundation for free, fair, and transparent elections.
