Donald Trump has announced a three-week extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, while efforts to secure a broader peace agreement involving Iran remain unresolved.
In a statement shared on Truth Social, Eko Hot Blog reports that Trump said the United States would continue working with Lebanon to strengthen its ability to counter threats from Hezbollah.

The announcement followed high-level diplomatic discussions held at the White House, involving senior representatives from both Israel and Lebanon, alongside US officials including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Clashes between Israel and Hezbollah have been a major obstacle in wider negotiations aimed at ending the conflict linked to Iran.

Tensions have further escalated following recent incidents in the Strait of Hormuz, including Iran’s seizure of two vessels.
Talks between Washington and Tehran have slowed, with Iranian officials blaming US threats and its naval blockade for hindering progress.
Trump, however, suggested the delay stems from internal challenges within Iran’s leadership, adding that he is not in a hurry to finalise an agreement.
