Properties and equipment were destroyed following separate fire outbreaks at an aluminium company in Ibadan and a residential building in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the industrial fire occurred on Thursday at an aluminium facility located around Km 110, Iyaganku area of Ibadan, while the residential incident happened a day earlier on Wednesday in Ogbomoso.

Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed both incidents, noting that emergency responders were able to bring the situations under control.
According to him, the fire at the aluminium company affected an office building with an adjoining warehouse.
“Upon arrival, a building used as an office with adjoining warehouse was engulfed by fire. The fire was caused by electrical sparks from an appliance plugged and unattended to. It ignited nearby combustibles and set the building ablaze,” he said.
Speaking on the Ogbomoso incident, Akinwande explained that firefighters found part of an old residential structure already on fire.

“Upon arrival, it was discovered that the first room by the right of an ancient residential building was engulfed by fire,” he added.
No casualties were reported in either incident, but significant property damage was recorded.
