The recruitment of 4,000 personnel spans several cadres, including teaching, medical, legal, and forestry.
Aiyedatiwa described these appointments as a prelude to a more comprehensive, service-wide recruitment exercise intended to further replenish the state’s workforce.

He noted that the 2026 promotion exercise is already underway, reinforcing his stance that workers should take consistent support for granted.
Despite the Governor’s assurances, Comrade Ademola Olapade, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), highlighted the “devastating effect” of fuel price hikes on transportation, food, and housing.
Olapade stressed that decent work must include fair wages that allow workers to meet basic needs in the face of rising inflation.
Additionally, Trade Union Congress (TUC) Chairman Comrade Clement Fatuwase called on the state government to heighten security measures to ensure the safety of all workers.
