He noted that while he does not discourage political involvement, he believes the universe belongs to God, whose final say is what truly matters.
Addressing recent comments made by activist Omoyele Sowore, Adeboye clarified his standing within the Nigerian Christian community.
He agreed with Sowore’s assessment that he is a “denominational father” rather than a father to all Christians in the country, noting that he does not seek such a title.
He maintained that the leadership of the Christian community rests with the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

The cleric also used the platform to address social media allegations regarding the church’s political affiliations.
He denied that the RCCG acts as an extension of the ruling All Progressives Congress, asserting that the church remains a voice for the people on national issues like economic hardship.
Adeboye even expressed his willingness to join peaceful protests if called upon by CAN leadership, reminding the audience that he had protested previously during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
