The palace said it became aware of what it termed a self styled installation carried out without following due process or receiving the consent of the traditional authority.
It stressed that no chieftaincy or equivalent market leadership title is valid within Oyo Kingdom without the express approval of the Alaafin, warning that any such appointment is null and void.
The statement further instructed the individual concerned to immediately desist from using or parading himself with the disputed title.

It also advised members of the public to avoid engaging in any official dealings with him, noting that anyone who does so would be acting at their own risk.
According to the palace, the monarch will not tolerate actions that undermine established traditional procedures or the authority of the throne, adding that measures will be taken to maintain order and stability within the kingdom.
