The incident was made public by Reuben Buhari, a former media aide to the late Governor Patrick Yakowa, who shared details on Facebook.
According to him, the woman was among four people kidnapped when gunmen stormed a house where she had been caring for her seriously ill mother. The attackers reportedly took them deep into the bush, where they were held for months under harsh and difficult conditions until a ransom was eventually paid.
After regaining her freedom, she was rushed to the hospital due to her weak condition. Doctors found her severely exhausted and in need of urgent care, including a blood transfusion to stabilise her.
Further medical examination later revealed that she was pregnant—believed to be a result of the abuse she suffered during her time in captivity.

Buhari also shared that the woman endured extreme hardship while in captivity, including long treks barefoot, which left her feet swollen and painful. He described her experience as deeply traumatic, noting that many of the ordeals faced by victims are often too painful to fully describe.
The incident has once again raised concerns about the growing insecurity and frequent kidnapping cases in parts of Kaduna State, especially in the southern region.
Attempts to get a response from the Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone were not answered.
