City appeared to be in control for large spells, dominating possession, but costly defensive lapses allowed Everton to mount a stunning comeback.

Despite taking the lead late in the first half through Jérémy Doku, Guardiola’s men struggled to maintain their grip on the game.
The visitors went ahead in the 43rd minute when Rayan Cherki set up Doku, who cut inside and curled a fine effort past Jordan Pickford.
After the break, Everton raised their intensity and began to threaten. Iliman Ndiaye tested Gianluigi Donnarumma on multiple occasions before the equaliser finally arrived in the 68th minute, as Thierno Barry capitalised on a defensive mistake.
Momentum swung firmly in Everton’s favour soon after, with Jake O’Brien heading home to make it 2-1. Barry then struck again in the 81st minute, finishing calmly to extend the lead and put the hosts in a commanding position.

City, however, responded quickly. Erling Haaland reduced the deficit two minutes later with a composed chipped finish, setting up a frantic finale.
As stoppage time stretched on, City found a lifeline. Deep into added time, Doku grabbed his second of the night, firing home to secure a dramatic equaliser.
While the late goal salvaged a point, the draw represents a setback for City’s title ambitions, leaving them with work to do as Arsenal maintain control at the top of the table.
