The All Progressives Congress in Eredo LCDA has officially confirmed Babatunde Julius Awonaike as the new Eredo LGA Chairman following the party’s decision announced on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Eko Hot Blog reports that following his confirmation, Hon. Awonaike expressed profound appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and APC members across Eredo LCDA for the confidence and trust reposed in him.

In his appreciation message, the newly confirmed chairman specially acknowledged the support and leadership of key political figures within Epe Division, including Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki, popularly known as Bamu; Sylvester Oluwadahunsi Ogunkelu; and Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, among several other party leaders and stakeholders.
He also appreciated Hon. Adesanya Olayinka (Yeye), Pa Hon. Odeyemi (Baba Watab), Hon. Adebola Blessing Jacob, Hon. Omolaja Adelaja, Hon. Mamudu Agbaraojo, Hon. Adebanjo (Jombu), Pa Dele Onabokun, and other influential stakeholders for their encouragement and support throughout the process.
Speaking after the confirmation, Hon. Awonaike pledged to work collaboratively with party members and leaders toward strengthening unity, progress, and political growth within Eredo LCDA.
“Your support, encouragement, and leadership are deeply appreciated. Together, we shall continue to work for the growth, unity, and progress of Eredo,” he stated.
Party members and supporters across the LCDA have since congratulated the new chairman, expressing optimism that his emergence will further strengthen the structure and unity of the APC within the area.
Political observers believe the development marks another important step in ongoing grassroots political reorganization and consolidation within Eredo LCDA ahead of future party activities.
