- Issued by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka on May 16, 2026, the statement urged state stakeholders and electoral officials to disregard contrary information to ensure all duly registered members vote without hindrance.
The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress has intervened to dispel rumors regarding voting restrictions in its ongoing nationwide primary elections.

The intervention follows growing concerns and conflicting field reports suggesting that some local monitoring committees were turning away registered party faithful over local financial defaults.
Morka emphasized that the foundational constitutional rights of all duly registered party members entitle them to full participation in the internal democratic exercise.
According to the party’s official guidelines, financial vetting protocols and dues clearance were strictly restricted to the administrative screening stages.
This meant only the political aspirants seeking elective offices, alongside the specific statutory members nominating them, were required to show comprehensive proof of financial compliance during the submission of their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.

By making this swift clarification, the APC aims to minimize friction across various wards and local government areas where leadership contests are currently being decided.
The statement concluded with a direct mandate to all election committees, security personnel, and grassroots party administrators to facilitate a peaceful, unhindered voting process.
Registered members were similarly encouraged to show up at their designated voting centers to exercise their franchise confidently and ignore any unauthorized structural barriers.
