It was a moment of joy, laughter, and celebration in Araromi Kingdom as children from across Araromi and Ibeju communities gathered for the annual Children’s Day celebration hosted by Oba Olayemi Lukman Arowolo.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the colourful event brought together hundreds of children, parents, traditional chiefs, community stakeholders, and dignitaries in a festive atmosphere filled with games, cultural performances, dancing competitions, entertainment, and educational activities aimed at celebrating and encouraging young people within the communities.
Addressing guests during the programme, the royal father disclosed that the initiative has remained consistent for the past 13 years, adding that it has greatly helped in identifying and nurturing the talents of many children across the Kingdom.
He emphasized the importance of supporting children both academically and creatively, while encouraging parents to pay proper attention to the unique abilities and gifts of their children.
The monarch stated that while education remains very important, talent discovery and skill development are equally necessary in helping children achieve greatness in life.
Also speaking at the event, Olori Oritoke, the Olori Agba of Araromi Kingdom, commended the monarch for his continuous love and commitment towards children and community development.
She described children as precious gifts to every society and encouraged parents, especially mothers, to continue guiding their children with love, discipline, prayer, and proper upbringing.
According to her, the future of every community depends greatly on how well children are nurtured and prepared for leadership responsibilities.
In the same vein, the Otunba Babalaje of Araromi Kingdom praised the monarch for sustaining the annual initiative over the years, noting that the celebration has become one of the most impactful community programmes within the Kingdom.
He stated that investing in children through programmes like this helps build confidence, unity, creativity, and a sense of belonging among young people.
The Akinrogun of Araromi Kingdom also lauded the royal father for prioritizing the welfare and development of children across the communities.
He encouraged the children to remain focused on their education, talents, and personal growth while staying away from negative influences capable of affecting their future.
