Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered a restriction on motorcycle operations across the state between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. as part of efforts to strengthen security and combat criminal activities.
The governor announced the directive through an Executive Order issued on Friday, amid ongoing efforts to secure the release of teachers and schoolchildren abducted by gunmen in the state.
Makinde said his administration remains fully committed to ensuring the safe return of the victims, stressing that every day they remain in captivity is a source of pain for their families and the people of Oyo State.
He assured residents that security agencies and relevant authorities are working tirelessly to rescue the abductees, noting that the issue remains a top priority for his government.
According to the governor, although details of ongoing operations cannot be made public due to security considerations, significant efforts are being made behind the scenes to secure the victims’ freedom.

“We will not relent until the kidnapped teachers and schoolchildren are reunited with their families,” he said.
Makinde also urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with useful information and remain vigilant as the government intensifies measures to tackle insecurity across the state.
