A video has emerged showing the dramatic moment operatives of the Nigeria Police Force rescued Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, from their abductors in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The victims were rescued during a late-night security operation conducted at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the footage, shared on X by Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, captured police operatives storming the apartment where the victims were being held captive.
Mrs John-Paul is the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.
According to a police source who spoke with Channels Television, the rescue operation followed sustained intelligence gathering and tactical surveillance by security agencies, which helped track the kidnappers to their hideout.
The source disclosed that operatives engaged the suspects in a gun battle during the operation, leading to the death of two suspected kidnappers.
Two firearms were also reportedly recovered from the gang during the raid.
According to the source, the intense pressure mounted by security operatives forced the kidnappers into a confrontation, ultimately paving the way for the successful rescue of the victims.
The source further revealed that security personnel have continued combing nearby communities and forested areas in search of other members of the kidnapping syndicate who escaped during the operation.
Some of the fleeing suspects were believed to have sustained gunshot wounds while exchanging fire with police operatives.
The successful rescue has been hailed as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes in Oyo State and neighbouring areas.

Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the identities of the deceased suspects or the ongoing manhunt for other members of the criminal gang.
