EKO HOT BLOG reports that Adelabu’s sister and her children were kidnapped earlier last week but were later rescued on Saturday night following a police operation based on a tip-off, which led to a raid on a township apartment.
Following the rescue, reports surfaced on Sunday morning alleging that Alli was connected to the incident. The claim quickly spread across social media and political circles.
However, in a statement issued on Sunday in Ibadan, Alli dismissed the allegation as false, misleading, and politically motivated, insisting it was an attempt to damage his reputation.
He called on the public to disregard the rumour entirely and urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into both the abduction and the origin of the allegations against him.
Alli also demanded that those behind the circulation of the claim be identified and brought to account.
He said, “We categorically describe the publication as irresponsible, defamatory, politically motivated and completely devoid of credibility.
“We urge members of the public to disregard the publication in its entirety and avoid spreading falsehoods capable of undermining ongoing security investigations or causing unnecessary political tension.”

The APC candidate maintained that he has no connection to the incident and reaffirmed his commitment to due process and the rule of law.
