Troops attached to the Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) AUDU and BABANNA have destroyed a suspected terrorist hideout during a fighting patrol in the Saminaka–Kanau axis of Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, disclosed the development in a post shared on his verified X account on Wednesday.

According to the report, the operation was conducted at about 10:30 a.m. on June 14, 2026, following credible intelligence indicating the presence of a suspected terrorist camp within the area.

Although the troops did not encounter any of the suspected terrorists during the patrol, they reportedly discovered and demolished the hideout, along with a logistics and administrative facility believed to have been used by the criminal elements.
Military sources said the operation was executed successfully and without casualties or other incidents.
The sources added that security forces have continued efforts to dominate the area and sustain pressure on criminal groups in a bid to deny them freedom of movement and operational bases.
