Fati joins Monaco after an impressive loan spell last season, during which he rediscovered his scoring touch by netting 12 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

The attacker was once considered one of Barcelona’s most exciting academy graduates and a potential successor to Lionel Messi after making a remarkable breakthrough into the first team as a 16-year-old in 2019.
Born in Guinea-Bissau, Fati relocated to Seville with his family as a child before joining Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy at the age of 10. He quickly rose through the ranks and scored eight goals during his debut senior campaign.
His rapid progress was halted by a serious knee injury suffered in November 2020, and despite inheriting Barcelona’s iconic No. 10 shirt after Messi’s departure in 2021, persistent injury setbacks limited his development.

A season-long loan at Brighton in 2023 also failed to revive his career, as injuries continued to affect his performances and playing time.
After returning to Barcelona for the 2024–25 campaign, Fati struggled to secure a regular place under manager Hansi Flick.
He departs the Catalan club having scored 29 goals in 123 appearances and leaves in search of a fresh start in France.
The Spain international has made 10 appearances for his national team and was part of the squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
