The Federal Ministry of Education has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC), Monguno, in Borno State, was attacked, describing the claims as false and misleading.

The ministry stated that there was no attack on the school, stressing that FGGC Monguno remains safe and secure, with all students, staff and boarding facilities fully protected.

According to the ministry, academic activities, boarding operations and other school programmes are continuing without disruption in a peaceful environment.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, reaffirmed that the safety, security and welfare of students in all Federal Government Colleges remain a top priority of the Federal Government.

He noted that FGGC Monguno operates under robust security arrangements to ensure the continuous protection of students, staff and school facilities.

Alausa also clarified that no student of FGGC Monguno was involved in the incident being linked to the college on social media. He explained that the individuals affected were remedial students outside the college, adding that the Borno State Government is already taking the necessary steps to ensure their safety and welfare.
