According to Air Force spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the precision strikes were part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and restore security across the country.
“Air assets conducted precision strikes southeast of Shuwaram before shifting to Mallam Fatori, where ISWAP elements were observed mobilising with motorcycles and boats along the Lake Chad Basin,” Ejodame said.
“The strikes destroyed insurgent hideouts, logistics hubs and weapons storage facilities, eliminating several terrorists and crippling their mobility capabilities.”
He added that post strike assessments confirmed multiple neutralisations and significant degradation of ISWAP’s operational structures in the area.
Simultaneous Strikes Across Northwest and North Central
While the Northeast operations were underway, another Air Force fighter jet carried out air interdiction missions over Garin Dandi and Chigogo in Kwara State, targeting identified bandit camps.
According to Ejodame, the strikes based on credible intelligence inflicted devastating losses on the armed groups.
In a related mission, air assets under Operation FANSAN YAMMA executed precision strikes on Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, where a terrorist kingpin and his fighters had been operating.

The operation neutralised several insurgents and destroyed their logistics bases, marking one of the most decisive offensives in the Northwest in recent times.
Expanding Coverage and Sustained Pressure
The Air Force said it also conducted armed reconnaissance missions across the Northwest corridor, covering Zamfara, Kebbi and Kaduna States, targeting suspected terrorist movements along the Birnin Gwari Funtua axis.
Settlements such as Kakihum, Dankolo, Kotonkoro and Kuyello, known to serve as transit routes and hideouts for armed groups, were monitored and struck where necessary.
“During the mission, coordination with Forward Operating Bases at Dankolo and Kotonkoro revealed suspicious movement near Wam Hill, where terrorists on motorcycles were spotted attempting to flee.
The aircrew swiftly engaged and neutralised the targets, with no further hostile activity observed,” the statement read.
Air Chief Commended for Renewed Precision Strategy
The Air Force attributed the successful operations to the strategic guidance of the Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, noting that the renewed focus on intelligence driven airpower has boosted the military’s effectiveness.
“Each mission reaffirms the Air Force’s resolve to deploy smarter, intelligence led operations to deliver decisive airpower against insurgents and criminals while protecting citizens and strengthening national security,” Ejodame stated.
